Intelligent Lives). THE RIDE AHEAD is the feature-length version of their Emmy Award-winning New York Times Op-Doc,
My Disability Roadmap.
Film synopsis: Samuel Habib is a typical 21-year-old, itching to move out, start a career, and find love. But no one tells you how to be an adult, let alone an adult with a disability. Can a community of disability activists help him follow his dreams?
Because AWSP was an early supporter of the film, we can make free copies of the Education Kit available, which will enable you to hold a public screening and continue to use the extensive resources in the Kit in perpetuity for professional development, transition planning, screening events, etc.
We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to create cutting-edge awareness and discussions about:
- Disability justice
- The vast possibilities for young adults with disabilities as they transition into adulthood
- Life planning strategies
- The critical role of mentorship
